Anyone that knows me will tell you that I'm an absolute gadget geek. Some people spend their money on beer, clothes or vacations. Me? I love to spend my hard-earned cash on gadgets!
My friends now come to me when they want advice on particular gadgets to buy. I wouldn't say I'm an expert on the subject, just someone with lots of experience on it! That brings me to the topic of today's blog post: the must-have items all gadget geeks should get.
Today I'm going to share with you a selection of geeky gadgets that you will just LOVE! Check them out:
Apple Magic Trackpad
Are you someone that uses an iMac or some other Mac on a daily basis? If so, you'll know how your wrist can hurt from using the mouse all the time. For me, it got to the point where my wrist was in excruciating pain. My doctor, of course, told me to lay off using my computer for a while.
Considering I need to use one as part of my job, that just wasn't going to happen. After careful research, I decided to buy an Apple Magic Trackpad. Boy, what a difference it made!
In a nutshell, the Magic Trackpad is the same as the trackpad in the MacBook laptops - only bigger. It's wireless and uses Bluetooth, so you don't have to worry about wires everywhere. It also offers a long battery life too.
If you've not used a laptop before, it might take you some time to familiarize yourself with it. But, once you do, you'll wish you bought an Apple Magic Trackpad ages ago!
Yes, I know - another Apple product. But, I am a gadget geek, and Apple is one of my favorite brands! And, no, they aren't paying me to recommend their products in case you're wondering.
These days, most of us have a smartphone of some description. Some folks prefer to use Android devices while others (like me) opt for the Apple iPhone.
It's a device that is more than just a mobile phone. It's like having a Mac in your pocket! It enables you to be productive, efficient and cool all at the same time!
The iPhone is also a must for budding app developers. If you're a member of the Apple Developer Network, you can test your apps on your iPhone. That's great news if you don't want to release it to the App Store just yet.
From a personal perspective, it's a brilliant way of sharing information. iOS makes it easy to share content between different apps, and with your contacts too.
Do you have a passion for photography? If so, you've perhaps used a variety of devices to take photos in the past. Still, nothing beats the quality and clarity of a digital SLR camera.
For beginners and seasoned snappers alike, there is one model in particular that I like. I am, of course, talking about the Nikon D3300. It's by no means the top of the range in the DSLR world. It's more of a mid-range model that doesn't cost thousands to buy.

You can usually get them with a good quality VR lens as standard (at least, mine came with one). I recommend getting a padded bag and lens cleaning kit at the same time - both of which are useful.
The menu system is intuitive on the Nikon D3300. It offers a "wizard" to help you take photos according to the environment. Or, if you prefer, you can adjust the settings yourself.
Satechi LightMate Emergency LED Flash Light
One of my most prized possessions is the LightMate! As you can guess from the title, it has an LED light (and a bright one at that). The brilliant thing about LEDs is they are more efficient than their counterparts.
You can select from various light settings include an SOS mode. Another handy option is that it offers a USB charging port, providing 2200mAh of power. That means you can plug in your phone in an emergency thanks to this handy power bank!
At the other end of this gadget, you'll notice it has a sharp metallic point. It's made from alloy steel and is useful for breaking glass. So, if you find yourself trapped somewhere, you can use this device to escape to freedom.
Nespresso Pixie Espresso Maker
Last, but not least, there is the brilliant Nespresso Pixie Espresso Maker. Sometimes (maybe that should say "every day") I need a strong caffeine hit. The obvious answer is to have an espresso.
Stop going to Starbucks and start making your own espressos with this handy gadget!
